17 No, I meant that media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit (but not media-
18 sound/jack) and media-sound/esound are installed, but I did not see them
19 running. Anyway, I explicitely deactivated the esd use flag and unmerged
20 esound. Now both "Jack Audio Connection Kit" and "Esound (ESD)" devices no
21 longer generate the test sound in system settings -> multimedial. That is,
22 the sound still appears, but I get a message that the devices are not
23 available, and that "HDA ATI SB (HDA Generic)" will be used instead.
