8 I used LaTeX for a time in the mid-80s. From what I remember, you're right
9 about the macros, but they're a big enough addition to lift the language from
10 assembler to a 'proper' symbolic language - Coral, say, or Fortran. Speaking
11 metaphorically, that is.
