1 It could be a power supply problem, too. I seen it when one of the power rails gets flakey the computer will do funny things. If you have another power supply connect it - you don't have to install it but just put it beside the box and then hook it up. If it works you have found the problem.

3 For overheating clean everything well - get rid of dust, etc. and then open the case and use an external fan to blow air in the case.
