Lately emerge sync behaves strange on all of my Gentoo boxes that use a |

non-standard temp dir for Portage. |

The according /etc/make.conf's contain the following lines (amongst others): |

PORTAGE_TMPDIR=/workdir/portage/tmp |

PORTDIR=/workdir/portage |
| 10 |
DISTDIR=${PORTDIR}/distfiles |
| 11 |
PKGDIR=${PORTDIR}/packages |

PORT_LOGDIR=/workdir/portage/log/ |
| 13 |

| 14 |
These settings were fine for almost a year now. |

But recently I recognized the following messages at the end of an emerge |

sync: |

Well at least the last error message seems to be reasonable ... |
