First, to those who offered help, I thank you for your efforts. I never |

was able to find a way to get the hard drives connected through the USB |
| 6 |
to boot. What I ended up doing was to resize and move my Windows |
| 7 |
partitions on my internal hard drive to give myself enough room to |
| 8 |
install Gentoo. It works now, and I can always use the USB drives as |
| 9 |
extra storage, backups, etc. |

Eventually, when I get around to it, I will probably install at least a |
| 12 |
couple of them in my computer (I need to install a new video card, anyway). |

An interesting side note: Out of all the distributions that support |

AMD64, that I tried, Gentoo was the only one that even came close to |
| 16 |
working on the USB drive. It's my favorite, anyway because everything |
| 17 |
is compiled from source, and you can set your own options. |
