19 I tend to sync my one gentoo machine every day or two, because I like to stay up to date and play with the newest toys :). I have however paid for this enjoyment in the form of hours fixing my machine, serveral times!

21 If you are aiming for as stable a machine as possible I would only update what you need to update, or specific packages you want to update or add. I admit to being the type that just updates everything (usually).
