10 Since 1991/1992, Solaris does not have anything in the static "kernel" than
11 the startup code, the basic scheduler code and the pager daemon. You need a
12 bootloader that knows about ELF dependencies, but grub has been enhanced for
13 that feature.

15 Everything is dynamic, you would however put a lot of effort into the linux
16 kernel to get to that state...e.g. automated major device numbering.
