18 Is this a new installation (i.e. did you have X working on this machine before

21 Either way, have you defined keyboard in your make.conf:

25 and if you just updated your xorg before this error occurred, have you
26 remerged your keyboard driver?

30 Run qlist -I -C x11-drivers/ to see which X drivers you need to remerge.
