10 dev-libs/geoip is a library to provide this functionality to your
11 programs. I think this is what most people use.

13 net-misc/whois will look up the owner of an IP netblock. You can read
14 the address and make an educated guess.

16 net-analyzer/traceroute will trace the path to the IP, usually hops
17 near the destination have geographic names that you can infer the
18 location from.
