FWIW, this is completely reproducible. The annoying bit is X crashes, but |

kdm does not, so when I switched to VT7 (thinking I had somehow switched to |
26 |
VT1) I was stuck there. I take it X needs to be running for ctrl-alt-F1 to |

be processed? |
