9 Because the whole point of a stage 1 is that you make it specific to
10 your cpu yourself (there's no athlon-xp, pentuim3, or pentium4 stage 1

13 There are only cpu-specific stage 2 and stage 3 tarballs, because a
14 stage 2 is 'semi-compiled' (thus already cpu-specific) and a stage 3 is
15 almost fully compiled (ditto). A stage 1 is completely uncompiled, so it
16 can't really be specific to a cpu, beyond a general architecture setting
17 (x86
18 as opposed to ppc, or amd64, for example).
