Hi group, |
2 |
|
3 |
I did an emerge -uD world on a box with the 2.6.12 |
4 |
kernel on it via the 2005.1 livecd. |
5 |
|
6 |
1)From the logs or perhaps an online doc I read that I |
7 |
must "manage a static /dev or ensure udev starts on |
8 |
boot. But how? There's no udev in init.d or conf.d. |
9 |
|
10 |
2)The emerge process terminated with the message " |
11 |
'slocate' renamed 'locate'." and to run |
12 |
|
13 |
#groupmod -n locate slocate. |
14 |
|
15 |
Which I did and was able to resume the process. Now in |
16 |
the new system both man locate and man slocate go to |
17 |
the same file, slocate(1). So what was that all about? |
18 |
It seemed important enough to shut the whole process |
19 |
down. |
20 |
|
21 |
3)Another message state with regard to glibc "upgrade |
22 |
/etc/locales.build to /etc/local.gen then run |
23 |
/etc/locals.build". Words to that effect. How the heck |
24 |
do I do that? |
25 |
|
26 |
-mw |
