14 KDE, phonon in particular, provides for routing the sound to different
15 devices. Go to System Settings → Multimedia, it should list both your
16 alsa and HDMI output. You can then change the order of priority for the
17 devices. If you now use a phonon-able media player, it will use the
18 output in the order you set there.
