WELL, my experiences so far: |
30 |
- With the Intel on board controller it don't work. This controller accepts no mode lines |
31 |
but only the modes stored in the BIOS - and those won't work tith the GDM-5410 monitor. |
32 |
- The monitor seems to support multiple frequencies, but many modes work pretty poor. With |
33 |
another PC (my old one) and a trusty Matrox G200 card I managed to get one mode (1280x1024@76 Hz) working. |
34 |
|
35 |
Open questions: |
36 |
- There are tools like get-edid+parse-edid, ddcprobe etc. which query a monitor via DDC about his capabilities. |
37 |
Are there ports of such tools to Solaris/Sparc? I want to use the settings on the SUN WS to get other nice mode lines, |
38 |
too. |
39 |
- Failing that, how can I get the "predefined" set of nice modes which work for the SUN? (for example a 1600x1000 mode I'm using right now). |

Not THAT simple :-( |
