This morning I did "emerge -DuN world -pv" on a PC with stable "x86" |

Gentoo. Portage says it wants to update only: |

Well, reading the recent thread about kernel-2.6.20, something made me |

try "emerge -pv gentoo-sources" and I was really surprised to see: |

'[ebuild NS ] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.20-r6 USE="symlink |

-build" 0 kB 42,580 kB' |

So, "emerge -pv gentoo-sources" wants to install the new kernel source, |

while "emerge -DuN world" doesn't. How come? |
