1 I'm having what appears to be a problem starting X, that produces no
2 a single error clear at the end of Xorg.0.log:

11 It appears to have something to do with loading mouse and kbd but I
12 cannot identify anything else in that log that looks like trouble to

15 I tried compiling xorg and xorg-server with the hal USE flag set to
16 negative (-hal).

18 Starting X still fails in much the same way but there are no errors
19 whatever produced in Xorg.0.log in that case.

23 X actually starts and the wm (fluxbox) starts and displays the
24 desktop background for a hot second, then crashes.

26 Its an Nvidia gforce 5700 card. I've tried setting both nvidia and nv
27 in /etc/make.conf and in xorg.conf.

29 With nvidia set it fails the same with same error config/hal. The
30 only difference I see is the nvidia logo comes up for a hot second.

48 Apparently the search engine at gmane cannot accept the string

54 So naturally it turns up piles of unrelated stuff even with other
55 words like `xorg' thrown in.

58 that is not happening. And I have no idea how to adjust that.
