15 i am talking of *both* methods. i don't remember anything *exactly*
16 but with genkernel i had exactly same weired problems when i didn't
17 choose VIA PATA in my kernel while compiling manually. i tried 2 times
18 and after that i quit generkernel and decided always to do a
19 transparent manual kernel-compilation.
