Hello, |
2 |
|
3 |
I have an old gentoo box (2.6.11-r3) that has no internet access at |
4 |
home which I'm trying to resurrect. |
5 |
|
6 |
I have another box at work that has internet access running XP. |
7 |
|
8 |
What do I need to do to update my gentoo box at home? |
9 |
|
10 |
I got some distfiles/* from the mirrors and copied them to |
11 |
/usr/portage/distfiles at home. |
12 |
|
13 |
But everytime I do emerge (eg: "emerge package" or "emerge -k |
14 |
package"), it still tries to connect to the internet (which I don't |
15 |
have) looking for the package I want to install. |
16 |
|
17 |
What am I doing wrong? |
18 |
|
19 |
Do I need to do something to the *.tar.bz files I got from the |
20 |
mirrored distfiles? Something about ebuild? I'm confused. |
21 |
|
22 |
Thanks and more power to gentoo.org. |
23 |
|
