14 Yeah, the intel_hda system is pretty funky. My understanding is that
15 the API is essentially a programmable plugboard connecting the various
16 DSPs on the chip, and that the "codec" is a mapping of which pins
17 connect to which.

20 that interface more intuitively to the user.
