So they'll move to quad-core in 2K7, shortly after I upgrade my
dual-socket-940 system to dual-cores later this year. However, at that,
having already upgraded memory on this board to 8 gig, I think I'll hold
for awhile (2 years minimum, possibly 4-5).

Observation: the hardware folks should be really glad I switched to Linux.
Since then, the money that /used/ to be split between software (mostly MS)
and hardware has been all hardware! =8^) However, I've been headed to
the point of diminishing returns, and my hardware now does what I need it
to do, so it'll be time to hold and wait for technology to catch up and
make my next upgrade to what by then will be middle of the line again, tho
it'll be a big upgrade for me.
