7 There was a bug just like this that appeared earlier in the year. See bug

13 IIRC, the problem was that 'emerge clean' removed the symlink, rather than
14 something else. I tried to track this bug down, but didn't get any results.
15 The bug is marked as 'RESOLVED', but the only resolution seemed to be 'emerge
