1 The file /etc/profile.env gets regenerated when env-update is run.
2 It is generated based on contents of /etc/env.d directory.
3 Please take a look at it, there are files containing config params.
4 The order is set by numbers prefixing file names. You will need to rename
5 these files to suit your order.
6 Of course if you want this order to be preserved you need to get this change
7 into portage tree. If you want to get this done, please experiment with the
8 order (And you have to have a very clear case to convince developers). When
9 you have it sorted out please submit a bugreport on http://bugs.gentoo.org,
10 so it does not get lost.
11 BTW, as was mentioned koffice-1.2 coexists with kde3 happily and is probably
12 preferable. Still above info might be useful on some other occasion.
