So I put your ebuild in overlay and updated the bug. I have few |
2 |
suggestions to your ebuild: |
3 |
|
4 |
1) it could use packages from Gentoo instead of the bundled ones |
5 |
(commons-cli, commons-logging, concurrent-util, xerces, log4j, mx4j etc.) |
6 |
|
7 |
2) directories in /opt/geronimo/var should be symlinked to appropriate |
8 |
places |
9 |
suggested locations: |
10 |
config -> /etc/geronimo/config |
11 |
security -> /etc/geronimo/security |
12 |
log -> /var/log/geronimo |
13 |
temp -> /var/tmp/geronimo |
14 |
these symlinks have two reasons - first reason is the files are |
15 |
found where they are expected to be (config files in /etc, log files in |
16 |
/var/log), second reason is that config files will be auto-protected so |
17 |
they will not be overwritten on geronimo upgrade |
18 |
|
19 |
We are still busy with packaging jboss so we do not have time to work |
20 |
on/improve geronimo ebuild but if you decide to work on it further then |
21 |
we can give you some guidance either here or in #gentoo-java as Alistair |
22 |
wrote before. You can find me there under nick fordfrog and Alistair is |
23 |
ali_bush. |
24 |
|
25 |
Thank you for providing geronimo ebuild and I hope we will hear some |
26 |
news from you about geronimo ebuild or we will meet at irc. |
