You have my support too. hardened-sources depends on gentoo-sources and you've done a good job in supporting hardened :) Regarding a kernel lead, I'm not sure either, but we need to keep lines of communication open because often times an issue comes in as a "hardened kernel" issue when its really a vanilla issue and affects all of us. I'm sure the same happens for every flavor of kernel in gentoo. My general approach has been if its a hardened specific issue we deal exclusively at our end, but if its vanilla, then the bug should be reassigned to the larger group because we all have a stake in it.
