Subject: [gentoo-ppc-dev] xfree-4.2.99.4 + xfree-drm-4.2.99.4 == working DRI

Hello everyone, as the subject says, get the latest ~ppc xfree and xfree-drm,
and if you have a r128 or radeon based setup, you _should_ end up with
working DRI in xfree.

Currently watching around 1250fps in glxgears, 80fps fullscreen 1280x1024 in
armagetron on my radeon 7500 on G4 733 + Apple DFP.

points of note:

make sure your /usr/src/linux symlink is pointed to your _active_ kernel when
you compile. Also if you update kernel you will have to re-emerge xfree-drm
(it provides the kernel modules).

Also, if you are a KDE user and you are updating from older versions of
fontconfig/freetype/xft for the xfree upgrades, you may also have to re
emerge kdelibs and qt to build against this newer stuff. You will notice
right away if you need too (fonts will be badly borked).

If you used Xeasyconf, you will also want to update that one and re-run as
well. Older versions had a bug where it didn't always set a valid XKB layout
and the pre XKB modes are broken in that snapshot (will be fixed by vendor
for release).

As always, please report any bugs to bugs.gentoo.org, and always include the
output of "emerge info" (no quotes). Thanks to all and happy Gentoo'ing
