Well, folks, as some of you might know, the Release Guidelines[1]
haven't been updated in quite a long time. Now is the time for you to
get your voice heard in getting these guidelines revised. We need to
ensure we have as much information as possible in the guidelines to make
it easier on our Release Engineering developers, and also to allow for
better communication between Release Engineering and other projects.

Some things that I plan on updating already include:

file-system layout
required files for release
policy regarding "official" status

I'm sure there is a bunch of other stuff that I'm forgetting, but I will
be making updates to the documentation over the next few days, so be
sure to mention what version of the document you're referring to, so we
don't duplicate effort.
