Subject: [gentoo-server] [OT] Roaming... Is ACAP dead? Any other solution?

Hi there,

I was searching for a solution for the problem of storing address book
information, bookmarks, etc. in a centralized location (roaming user
profiles) when I found about IMSP
(http://asg.web.cmu.edu/cyrus/rfc/imsp.html) and ACAP
(http://asg.web.cmu.edu/acap/). They seemed to be the perfect solution
for this problem, but after googling for some hours it seems they're
(almost) dead... Does anybody have some experience with them? Any real
server/client implementation out there? Anyone aware of the real state
of these protocols?

Is there any other standard / interoperable solution for the roaming
profile problem? All I've been able to find seems to be highly
propietary or non standard at all.

Best regards
Jose
