I read some articles suggesting that in order to make printer work, the
parallel port need to work in ECP mode, the cable has to be IEEE1284
(bidirectional).

1) I don't know how to check if the port is in ECP mode. I used to check
it with BIOS utilities on x86 but I don't know how to get this info on
sparcs. A quick google search with 'ECP OBP' doesn't give needed info.
2) I don't know how to test the cable if it is bidirectional or not. But
I thought it is difficult to get a unidirectional cable, so it might
be...

How do you suggest? Thanks in advance:)
