Hi,

I removed gs-sources from portage recently. This was maintained by a developer
who is no longer active, and all his work was combined into a single patch
meaning that nobody else could pick it up without starting clean.

This package has been untouched for 10 months, except for security fixes.
There were a few open bugs and I myself had trouble even getting it to
compile. Providing broken and unmaintained packages is not something we like
to do.

I apologise that there was no warning - I did not see the need for this since
it is out of date and hasn't been worked on for a long time.

You are free to continue using gs-sources if you want to. You would be in
exactly the same situation if the ebuild was still in the tree - it is not
under development either way.

Also, I would not recommend running -pre or -rc kernels in a server environment.
