If there's an on-off option in the BIOS for the on board chip I can't
find it. This is an e-Machine T-6420. This BIOS does not list the
PCI devices connected. The on-board chip is always detected, assigned
to eth0, and the forcedeth driver module is loaded. It just doesn't
connect with DHCP. The D-Link is detected by the installation
program, assigned to eth1, and uses this as is shown with
/sbin/ifconfig. When one has the compiled system rebooted, eth0 is
apparently assigned to the onboard chip, forcedeth is loaded, but
there is no connection. The D-Link is not detected, so there is no
eth1. I haven't tried the minimal installation disk. Can one
eventually get a full system with it?
