8 Quite possibly. Especially if the chip is getting that hot. Mine only
9 went to the low to mid 50sC at full load. That was during the summer
10 when room temperature was about 25-27C. Now it's cooler the
11 temperature isn't going above about 46C loaded and 36C right now idle.

16 Could be, but all Athlons from the XP on have had on die thermal
17 diodes. No air gap problem as with the earlier socket A chips. The
18 Athlon64 also has a thermal trip cut out. If it gets too hot it will
19 switch off.
