Bug #103878 is the culprit. Some yahoo thought it would be a good idea |

to make the PPP package, which does *not* require kernel sources in any |

way to compile, to check for CONFIG_PPP and die when it doesn't find it. |

My suggestion to you would be to add yourself to the CC on the bug, edit |

the ebuild yourself to remove the unnecessary kernel check, and make a |
