34 While I am not addressing your specific request... I would like to offer
35 that I think that disbanding projects is working thus far. Of course,
36 some packages should be kept together, but anyone stepping up to
37 maintain those packages should know that and continue maintenance as
38 such.

40 Aside from this, the disbandonment efforts have proven, from my
41 perspective, to open the door for others to fix packages which have
42 outstanding bugs open.
