Yeah. I meant that the point of the new channel would be for development |

discussion rather than user support. I didn't mean that #gentoo-dev should be |

opened up to users or that #gentoo-portage's purpose should be changed. |

Perhaps #gentoo was such a channel in the past, but that was the past. |

Thinking about it, such a channel would probably help recruitment somewhat |

too. I became a developer after another was kind enough to say "learn this, |

this and this". It was only a stroke of luck/fate/whatever that allowed the |

initial contact. #gentoo to #gentoo-dev is worlds apart. #gentoo-ebuilding |

(or whatever) would be a good bridge between them for those that want to |

traverse it. |
