5 I disagree, multiple suffixes would be much clearer to read. IMHO
6 renaming _rc3 to _rc000300000000 is an overkill. Why not simply allow
7 some exceptions from the general rule, such as foo_rcX_preY? It's
8 obvious that mixing most of the suffixes (e.g. _alphaX_betaY) will
9 surely result in bogus versioning system and should be prohibited,
10 although certain combinations would introduce a slight (vast?)
11 simplification.
