[gentoo-dev] portage wanting to 'update' to lower version of installed package

Hi,

I unmasked grub and installed it when i was having problems and
someone mentioned that I was using an older version, but now whenever
I do an update world it wants to replace the new version with the
older one.  I know i can edit the package mask each time i do an
rsync, i'm wondering why portage would try to downgrade if a newer
version is installed.
