Install build-rc5 with a 2.4.4 kernel (I think I did a 2.4.4-r something), |

and after that (Except if you need it the extra extentions) fetch |

linux-2.4.6 yourself & do a manual installation. |

(That's what I did, and yes, it's not "ebuild"/portage safe, but it works :) |
