You are the best judge of your own skills and interests. Go to |

bugs.gentoo.org, search for bugs assigned to 'java@g.o', and |

see if any looking interesting. Some already have ebuilds/fixes |

attached, but haven't been commited to the tree - you might like to |

make a list of trivial bugs like this, sifting out the ones that |

aren't relevant anymore (do leave a comment requesting bug closure and |

the reason). Some of the others, like out-of-memory build issues, are |

one line fixes. Find something that looks simple, see if you can |

reproduce the error, copy the ebuilds to your portage overlay, modify, |
19 |
test, repeat, and eventually the error will go away, now submit your |
20 |
patch and pester someone to look at it and commit it. That's all there |

is to it. |
