Just to be clear of misunderstanding here: |

A port away from py2-only pygtk does not necessarily have to mean a |

port to gtk+:3 at the same time - pygobject:3 (the |

`from gi.repository import ...` stuff) works just fine with |

gtk+:2[introspection] as well. |

Of course ideally it would be ported to gtk3 as well (and starting with |

later this year to gtk4). |
