It's not just a question of "new version", it's the thing that the whole |

jabber-family seems to be unmaintained. For example if you want to use |

yahoo-transport with ejabberd it needs jabberd-1.4 as a dependency (ok). |

But if you try to install it, you have *no chance*, because the |
| 13 |
jabberd-1.4 ebuild does not use the jabber-base stuff. |

That's the reason I fall on the nerves of the whole list. |
