The Portage2 project as outlined at uwyn.com is for all intents and |

purposes dead. Last time I heard, there will be no C++ rewrite. |

The development itself is done incrementally based on feasibility of |

new features and their importance. The chief architect is Daniel Robbins, |

but other devs have contributed patches from time to time. |
