A quick grep for KV and ExtractKernelVersion doesn't show any real usage |

except for check_KV in ebuild.sh, but that function isn't used in |
| 12 |
portage itself, so if any ebuilds/eclasses are using it they could be |

changed to the eclass implementation in theory. |
