There is a patch with this bug, http://bugs.gentoo.org/267708 which |
9 |
needs to be applied to livecd-tools. Once that is done, we |
10 |
need to put a bell character in the boot message for the cd so that it |
11 |
will beep when the boot prompt comes up, and a very long timeout at |
12 |
the prompt would help. The reason behind this is so that there is no |
13 |
doubt when the boot prompt is on the screen. |
14 |
|
15 |
Once that is done, someone could do something like this at the boot |
16 |
prompt: |
17 |
|
18 |
gentoo speakup.synth=synthname |
19 |
|
20 |
This will activate the speech and make sure X is not started. If |
21 |
speakup.synth=synthname is not on the command line, nothing will be |
22 |
affected. |
