8 There is a patch with this bug, http://bugs.gentoo.org/267708 which
9 needs to be applied to livecd-tools. Once that is done, we
10 need to put a bell character in the boot message for the cd so that it
11 will beep when the boot prompt comes up, and a very long timeout at
12 the prompt would help. The reason behind this is so that there is no
13 doubt when the boot prompt is on the screen.

15 Once that is done, someone could do something like this at the boot

20 This will activate the speech and make sure X is not started. If
21 speakup.synth=synthname is not on the command line, nothing will be
