I've been seen something similar over the last few days. |

I've been trying to install SELinux from the 20040616 iso on an old |

PIII 500. Each time I tried the system stops dead within a few hours |

of booting. It won't respond to keyboard input and drops off the net. |

Nothing is logged to screen. |

I initially thought this was a hardware problem (I threw this box together |

from spares), but have swapped several components to no avail. Each time |

I tried the box locked up during the glibc build (about 3 hours into the |

stage2 build). I tried last night just building glibc - it worked fine, |
| 12 |
but the system locked up after the build finished - whilst the system was |
| 13 |
sitting idle. |

I've since tried installing from the 2004.1 livecd and got through the |
| 16 |
stage2 build without any trouble. The box was happily chugging away on |
| 17 |
'emerge system' when I left it this morning. |

The bottom line - the problem appears to be either specifically SELinux |
| 20 |
related, or, from the previous emails in this thread, possibly 2.6 |

related. |
