7 So, basically, you want to have multiple directories that the "traditional" /etc/portage inherits from. This would provide a way to separate local profile settings into groups and organize them (more effectively than the current use of commented blocks allows).

9 I wouldn't mind having a feature like this. I would provide a way for automatic unmasking tools to keep their changes separate and easily reversible.
