If I checked your patches correctly, you did not remove this paragraph
completely:

Also, the metadata headers will have a different syntax.
If you need the specific syntax right now, let me know (best if you had
a draft of your revised document).

Two notes on ReST:
1) I'm very much against alternate markups to be used on the Wiki.
2) This won't allow us to use metadata intelligently.

Then there's to my knowledge no ready-to-use, safe module for ReST [1].

I think keeping things together on the Wiki is the best approach here.
