I don't see GLEP 76 being cancelled. I personally do *not* share your |
8 |
privacy concerns and really believe that this was a necessary, long |
9 |
overdue, change. |
10 |
|
11 |
But my opinion doesn't matter. What I want to say: My opinion has the |
12 |
same value as your opinion or the opinion of any other developer. |
13 |
|
14 |
And from that POV, you have to acknowledge that nobody really raised |
15 |
such a concern. The truth is, only 1 active developer is really affected |
16 |
by this change (at least just one developer expressed problems and |
17 |
stopped contributing since then). But this wasn't a council-only |
18 |
decision. When this was discussed on mailing list, everyone should have |
19 |
known the consequences. In other words: Most people in Gentoo agreed |
20 |
that we have to address copyright and we don't do anything crazy in |
21 |
comparison to Fedora/Redhat, Arch Linux or Debian. Wrong? |
22 |
|
23 |
If you or anyone else have an idea how GLEP 76 could be improved please |
24 |
share! That's not special about GLEP 76, that's valid for anything in |
25 |
Gentoo. We all are Gentoo. And if there's a problem which could be |
26 |
solved or something which could be improved, raise your voice so we can |
27 |
become better -- together. |
