VIA-Rhine and Realtek are both crap. Something else to look at would be |

to make sure both are set to full or half duplex, not mismatched. |

Symptoms of mismatched duplex is that you can ping or send small |

amounts of network traffic, but larger transfers (eg, FTP a file) |

choke. |
