| I know I can run my own rsync server and have gentoo sync from that and |
7 |
| I remember seeing you can emerge binary packages made with the buildpkg |
8 |
| flag. Is there anything inherantly wrong with what I am doing or major |
9 |
| problems that will arise? Is there any documentation (or posts I |
10 |
| couldn't find) for this sort of thing that will help me out? |
11 |
| Tips/tricks/advice? |

We've done this for a heap of workstations and made it into an automatic |
15 |
process. If you intend to maintain an authoritative repository of |
16 |
binaries then there are a few management problems involved. Its all |
17 |
documented, along with some scripts at |
18 |
http://www.scms.waikato.ac.nz/~baz. It may not be relevant to how you |
19 |
want to maintain your servers, but there might be something there thats |
20 |
relevant to you (particularly near the end of the doc). |
