Ran pretty much the same setup for the same reasons for 3+ years on |
16 |
Gentoo and had no problems. I did eventually scrap the original virtual |
17 |
mail system to do a major hardware and software upgrade. I could have |
18 |
done the software in place, but decided that upgrading to a 2.6 kernel, |
19 |
Mysql 4.1, Apache 2.0, and Postfix 2.2 all at once was probably better |
20 |
done on a fresh box and would require less late nights during the |
21 |
switchover. |
22 |
With two servers in a corporate setting I'd skip any advanced package |
23 |
stuff. Do the glsa checks and don't upgrade anything without testing on |
24 |
your desktop/personal webserver. Also keep an eye on the forums for the |
25 |
things you're running. When you've answered a few hundred questions |
26 |
about Postfix and virtual mail you're much less likely to be caught off |
27 |
guard by any package changes. :-) |
